Cuantificación de minerales en plantas medicinales y sus infusiones, utilizando Espectroscopía de Emisión Óptica con Plasma Acoplado Inductivamente (ICP-OES)

Las infusiones son bebidas elaboradas con plantas nativas o cultivadas. El objetivo de la investigación fue determinar el contenido macro (Ca, Na, K y Mg) y microelementos (Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Cr, Pb y Cd) mediante el uso de espectroscopía de emisión óptica con plasma acoplado inductivamente (ICP-OES) en plantas medicinales y sus infusiones. Se consideró trece muestras de plantas: Té verde (C. sinensis), Uña de gato (U. tomentosa), Canela (C. cassia), Coca (E. coca), Achiote (B. orellana), Hierba luisa (C. citratus), Manzanilla (M. chamonillo), Anís (P. anisum), Hinojo (F. vulgare), Inca muña (C. tomentosum), Muña (M. mollis) y Paico (C. ambrosioides). En plantas; el Ca, K, Mg y Na fueron los macroelementos más predominantes mientras que en microelementos priorizaron el Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu y Cr. En las trece infusiones; los macroelementos tuvieron el orden siguiente Ca˃ Mg˃ K˃ Na y en microelementos fue Mn˃ Zn˃ Fe˃ Cu˃ Cr. Asimismo, la concentración de metales tóxicos (Cd y Pb) no superó lo establecido por la Organización Mundial de la salud (WHO, 2007).
