Infusiones de plantas medicinales: Actividad antioxidante y fenoles totales

Las infusiones son consumidas como bebidas sociales para aliviar dolencias y como parte de la cultura por siglos. El objetivo de la investigación es evaluar la capacidad antioxidante (DPPH y ABTS°+) y fenoles totales de infusiones preparadas con plantas medicinales comerciales, frescas y secas. Para la preparación de las infusiones se utilizaron muestras comerciales (doce), frescas (trece) y secas (catorce). El contenido de fenoles totales en infusiones comerciales fue mayor en té limón y menor P. anisum (665,03 ± 2,37 a 51,83 ± 0,59 mg EAG/L). Para hierbas frescas y secas fue mayor B. orellana. La mayor capacidad antioxidante frente al radical DPPH en infusiones comerciales fue para té limón 5,43 ± 0,04 mM ET y el menor C. citratus 0,03 ± 0,00 mM ET; en solo frescas el mayor fue U. tomentosa 9,25 ± 0,10 mM ET y el menor E. coca 0,01 mM ET; en secas el mayor fue C. sinensis té verde 21,17±0,04 mM ET. La mayor capacidad antioxidante ABTS°+ correspondió a la infusión de B. Orellana preparada con muestra comercial y seca, y en muestra fresca fue para C. tomentosum. La menor actividad antioxidante fue para te limón (comercial), C. ambrosioides fresco y seco.
