Nanoencapsulación de compuestos bioactivos de plantas medicinales infravaloradas: Una revisión narrativa con enfoque bibliométrico

Este estudio revisa la nanoencapsulación de compuestos bioactivos provenientes de plantas medicinales poco valoradas y productos naturales, combinando un enfoque narrativo y bibliométrico. La nanoencapsulación protege estos compuestos sensibles de factores ambientales, mejorando su estabilidad, biodisponibilidad y liberación controlada. Diferentes nanomateriales, como liposomas y nanotransportadores lipídicos, permiten su inclusión en alimentos funcionales sin afectar las propiedades sensoriales. El análisis bibliométrico identificó tendencias actuales en formulación, caracterización, compuestos naturales y vegetales, además de técnicas analíticas avanzadas. Las plantas nativas y plantas tradicionales surgen como fuentes importantes de bioactivos, aunque presentan retos técnicos como baja solubilidad y estabilidad. La nanoencapsulación se consolida como una estrategia innovadora para incrementar la estabilidad, biodisponibilidad y funcionalidad de compuestos bioactivos, favoreciendo su incorporación en matrices alimentarias orientadas al desarrollo de productos funcionales y sostenibles. Si bien la evidencia disponible destaca su elevado potencial tecnológico, su implementación a nivel industrial aún exige avances en métodos de producción, optimización de costos y validación de procesos a escala piloto y comercial.
