Author Guidelines

SCIÉNDO is a scientific journal published by the National University of Trujillo that disseminates research findings in the fields of Social Sciences and Humanities. The journal publishes original research articles, review articles, and scientific notes in Spanish and English.

The content of published articles is the sole responsibility of their authors and does not necessarily reflect the views of the journal or the institutions with which the authors are affiliated. All manuscripts submitted to SCIÉNDO must be ORIGINAL and must not have been previously published or submitted to any other publication outlet, regardless of its type.

Manuscripts must be prepared in Microsoft Word using the official TEMPLATE provided by the journal (go to FILE and download the template).

Manuscripts received by SCIÉNDO are initially evaluated for compliance with the journal's editorial scope and policies. The Editor reserves the right to reject manuscripts that do not meet these requirements and to communicate the reasons for rejection to the authors. In other cases, the Editor may request changes or modifications, requiring the authors to initiate a new submission process.

Manuscripts that comply with the journal's editorial policies are subsequently screened using Turnitin to verify their originality and detect potential plagiarism. If a manuscript presents a similarity percentage greater than 10%, it will be returned to the authors for revision to reduce the similarity level.

If the submission meets these requirements, the manuscript undergoes a single-blind peer review process, involving at least two (2) external reviewers or evaluators, who are given a maximum of 20 days to provide their assessments and recommend acceptance or rejection.

Based on these evaluations, the Editor and the Director make the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection. A report is prepared, and the decision is communicated to the authors.

Manuscripts receiving conditional acceptance, subject to addressing reviewers' comments, will be returned to the authors to incorporate the corrections and/or modifications requested by the reviewers and the Editorial Committee.

The review and revision process will comprise a maximum of two (2) rounds of revisions. During each round, authors must respond fully, accurately, and with appropriate justification to all comments and recommendations within the deadline established by the journal.

If, after the second round, substantial concerns remain regarding the manuscript's quality, scientific rigor, originality, coherence, or relevance, or if the authors fail to adequately address the requested revisions, the manuscript may be rejected and the editorial process will be concluded.

The identities of the reviewers remain anonymous to the authors throughout the entire review process.

SCIÉNDO does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, peer review, or article publication.

Once an article has been accepted, the journal holds the right to publish the work; however, authors retain their copyright without restrictions.
