Reproducción e hibridación de peces transgénicos fluorescentes en cautiverio: un alcance prospectivo

La introducción, reproducción e hibridación de peces transgénicos fluorescentes dentro del territorio peruano se ha venido dando desde el año 2006 como queda demostrado en los ensayos de laboratorio reportados en el éste artículo. Se ha pronunciado para el Perú la Ley No. 29811 que establece la moratoria al ingreso y producción de organismos vivos modificados al territorio nacional por un período de 10 años con fines de cultivo o crianza, incluidos los acuáticos, a ser liberados en el ambiente. El artículo pone de manifiesto la existencia de OVM´s acuáticos que están siendo reproducidos comercialmente por acuaristas y/o acuicultores ornamentales sin control alguno y potencialmente podrían ser liberados al medioambiente. Sin embargo, los resultados preliminares obtenidos podrían por otro lado dar inicio a un primer análisis y gestión de riesgos a nivel laboratorial y/o en condiciones controladas con éstos organismos acuáticos (caso pez Cebra) que pudieran dar las bases futuras para la toma de decisiones pertinentes ante la introducción organismos transgénicos para cualquier objetivo científico, comercial, medioambiental u otro de interés nacional aun no vislumbrado.
