Terapia antihipertensiva: un análisis social del control de la hipertensión en pacientes del distrito de Trujillo, Perú

La hipertensión arterial es uno de los problemas de salud pública más importantes a nivel mundial. A pesar de contar con tratamientos eficaces, las cifras de pacientes con presión arterial no controlada siguen siendo elevadas. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar la efectividad del tratamiento antihipertensivo en el control de los valores de presión arterial en pacientes con hipertensión. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal, registrándose los valores de presión arterial en una muestra de pacientes de un sector del distrito de Trujillo entre enero y febrero de 2025. Los resultados revelaron que el 43,8% de los hombres y el 41,2% de las mujeres no tienen controlada la presión arterial. Asimismo, el 50,0% entre 70-79 años y el 58,3% de los que tienen secundaria presentan valores de presión arterial fuera del rango normal. Se concluye que la terapia antihipertensiva es parcialmente efectiva en los pacientes del estudio. Además, los pacientes menores de 70 años tienen un mejor control de la presión arterial y que el nivel educativo parece estar asociado con este control: a mayor nivel educativo, mejor regulación de la presión arterial.
