Propiedades estructurales y ópticas de nanopartículas de óxido de cerio biosintetizadas con extracto alcohólico de Aloe vera

La investigación tuvo como propósito caracterizar estructural y ópticamente las nanopartículas de óxido de cerio (CeO2) biosintetizadas por un método amigable con el medio ambiente, para esto se utilizó nitrato de cerio hexahidratado y extracto alcohólico de Aloe vera. Las nanopartículas se caracterizaron por difracción de rayos x, espectroscopia Raman, FTIR, fotoluminiscencia y Uv-vis. Se obtuvieron nanopartículas de 7 nm aproximadamente con un ancho de banda prohibida de 2,9 eV, que es menor al del CeO2 reportado en tamaño masivo, lo que se atribuyó a las vacancias de oxígeno reportados en el presente estudio.
